“They Put Up a Hell of a Season”: Days After XFL Season Closes, Dwayne Johnson Isolates the ‘Unsaid MVPs’ Who ‘Consistently Sold Out’ Their Stadium

Recently, the first season of Dwayne Johnson-led XFL came to a conclusion and saw the Arlington Renegades win over the DC Defenders to claim the title Throughout the season, Defenders were one of the strongest contenders to the title. But Renegades proved themselves superior and defeated them to secure the championship.

Soon after, Dwayne Johnson took to his Instagram to upload a video. Informing the fans about a motivational quote he had heard from DC Defenders’ coach Reggie Barlow. However, before beginning with the quote, he would heap praises on Barlow and had a special mention for the Defenders.

What did Dwayne Johnson say while praising Reggie Barlow?

Both Dwayne Johnson and Reggie Barlow have been former football players themselves, and they know the ins and outs of the game. However, while Johnson chose a different career path, Barlow stuck with football and became a coach.

Barlow had ended his career as a player for Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003 and then took up coaching in 2005. He coached multiple teams before landing up with DC Defenders in the XFL. Johnson would compliment Barlow, and heap praises on him and his side.

The 51-year-old said, “Coach Reggie Barlow just took his DC defenders to the XFL championship this past weekend, they came up short. But man, did they put up a hell of a season. The best record in the XFL, and they created really something incredible and special up there in our nation’s capital, the DC.”

He further claimed, “Especially, their home turf the Audi Field which they consistently selling out. And that’s a special place to play , congratulations to coach Reggie Barlow and the DC Defenders for an incredible season. Cannot wait to see what you guys do this coming season, the next season, season 2 of the XFL.”

After putting up one of the best performances in the first season, DC Defenders are expected to come back stronger next year. Their home support saw them sell out the stadium according to The Great One and that is sure to be an advantage next season for them.
