Cristiano Ronaldo won every possible thing that he could during his time in the Premier League, La Liga ad Serie A. Talking about Lewis Hamilton, well he also has conquered pretty much everything that he can with Mercedes. While Ronaldo has succeeded at winning the Ballon d’Or 5 times, Hamilton has won 7 Drivers Championships. However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s $34 million contract has now come back to haunt the Serie A club. Despite Ronaldo’s move having a ‘boomerang’ effect, Ferrari continues their interest to sign Lewis Hamilton.
Last month Eddie Jordan suggested that F1 needs Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari. Now, after a high-profile meeting involving the Ferrari President, John Elkann, Charles Leclerc is probably said to be close to signing an extension. However, speculation of Ferrari preparing a contract for Lewis Hamilton has been going around the paddock. Hamilton has not signed an extension with Mercedes yet and the rumored Ferrari contract is $14 million more than his current Mercedes contract.
Around the same time, when John Elkann became the President of Ferrari, a close relative, and chairman of Juventus, Andrea Agnelli signed Cristiano Ronaldo as their star signing. John Elkann is said to be interested in the experienced Lewis Hamilton inspired by Ronaldo’s move to Juventus. However, the Serie A dumped a load of money on a big name like Ronaldo and is paying the consequences now that he has left. An Italian court has handed Juventus a 10-point deduction for false accounting in the club’s transfer dealings. Despite how Ronaldo’s transfer has left Juventus on the back foot, Ferrari is persistent to sign Lewis Hamilton, even if it costs $49,000,000 a year.
According to Formulapassion.it, Leo Turrini on Il Resto del Carlino said, “John Elkann has been Ferrari president since summer 2018. At the same time, close relative Andrea Agnelli, at the time in vogue at Juventus, perfected the Cristiano Ronaldo affair. It has been since then that there has been a murmur of Elkann’s interest in Hamilton. After that, Operation CR7 was a boomerang, for the Old Lady. Leclerc is much younger than Hamilton, who has been in F1 since the remote 2007. But Lewis has never hidden his admiration for the Ferrari myth.”
Amidst all of these transfer rumors, Toto Wolff earlier tried to shrug off the Ferrari ones as he talked about the situation regarding Lewis Hamilton’s contract.

When Wolff was asked about the Ferrari rumors and Hamilton’s possible retirement at the end of the year, he replied by suggesting how the rumors come up every time the Brit was about to sign a new contract. Hamilton and Mercedes will take their time to discuss the detail and will not be pressurized by the time.
In an interview with oe24.at, Toto Wolff spoke regarding Lewis Hamilton’s contract situation. He was asked about the Ferrari rumors and/or a possible end to his career as the Mercedes isn’t performing. Toto Wolff replied, “These rumors appear every two years when we have to make a new contract. But none of this is true. We discuss normally, without any time pressure.”
What do you think? Will Lewis Hamilton be able to succeed at Ferrari like Ronaldo did at Juventus?
